Just as the recent storm hit the northwest the night before, Manchester City blew Manchester United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil victory for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they consolidated their place at the top of the table.

Successive Setbacks for United

This result represented consecutive league defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since May 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.

The Red Devils' capability to manage league and European soccer with a small team has been a widely debated subject since they secured entry to the Champions League.
